In Zion and in our family, understanding why someone behaves a certain way can lead to empathy, but without knowing the reason, we may misunderstand them, become angry, and ultimately become enemies. That is why God emphasised the importance of understanding and considering each other and highlighted “love one another” as a significant teaching of the new covenant.
The members of the Church of God reflect on the suffering, pain, shame, and insults that Father and Mother have endured for them, shedding their old selves who lived only for themselves, and strive to become new selves who consider one another, yield to each other, and actively practise love.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. . . . And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. 1 John 4:16–21
